Grass Briquettes

Various grasses are suitable for use in the Slugger briquetting system, including but not limited to Switchgrass (shown ground and briquetted), miscanthus, alfalfa, straw, mixed prairie grasses, reed canary grass, hay (good or waste) and many others. In the Slugger system, these grasses all behave similarly. Miscanthus and alfalfa seem to work particularly well, but with the proper grind size and moisture level they all will form a good briquette. Grass briquettes are used for heating or electricity generation, and can be burned in an increasing number of commercially available residential and industrial sized heating appliances. Lawn grass is generally not suitable for briquetting because it is far too wet and it is thought that there is simply not enough of it in any given area to make it feasible. "Grass" dies are used for briquetting these various grasses in the Slugger system.
