Cefotaxime Sodium

Cefotaxime Sodium is known for its broad spectrum activity against Gram positive as well as Gram negative bacteria. It is considered to be equivalent to ceftriaxone for its safety and efficacy. Like other β-lactam antibiotics, Cefotaxime does not block the division of many bacteria such as Cyanobacteria, the division of cyanelles, the photosynthetic organelles of the Glaucophytes and division of chloroplasts of bryophytes. Further, it does not have any effect on the plastids of the highly developed vascular plants. It is widely used for various infections of the respiratory tract skin, bones, joints, urogenital system, meningitis, and septicemia.
